In 1975, Gerard Bertrand began his grape harvest at Chateau de Villemajou in the Corbieres, where he discovered his passion for wine. Over the course of twelve years, he honed his skills alongside his father Georges Bertrand until the fourth generation finally carried on the legacy. After the tragic death of his father in 1987, Gerard Bertrand took over the family management of the Domaine de Villemajou and founded the Gerard Bertrand wine company. The Gerard Bertrand Group comprises 16 wine estates and 16 chateaux along the Mediterranean coast of France, covering a total of 850 hectares. Some of the grapes are harvested by hand and matured in 225-liter Bordeaux barrels, while the rest is stored in stainless steel tanks.

Gerard Bertrand Chateau L'Hospitalet La Clape impresses with an elegant, dry taste profile that is characterized by exceptionally low residual sugar. The powerful cuvee is made from the Bourboulenc, Roussanne, Vermentino and Viognier grape varieties and reflects the unmistakable charm of the Old World.

The white wine benefits significantly from the Mediterranean climate of the Languedoc, where the grapes ripen perfectly under warm conditions and reach a high must weight. After careful harvesting, the grapes are processed quickly, gently crushed and fermented at controlled temperatures in large oak barrels. The wine then matures for several months in French oak barrels before being bottled and sealed with a natural cork.
