Gerard Bertrand Heritage An 462 Languedoc 2021 14,5% Vol. 0,75l
In 1975, Gerard Bertrand began his grape harvest at the Chateau de Villemajou in the Corbieres and discovered his passion for wine there. For twelve years, he honed his skills alongside his father Georges Bertrand, until the fourth generation finally carried on the legacy. After the tragic death of his father in 1987, Gerard Bertrand took over the family management of the Domaine de Villemajou and founded the Gerard Bertrand wine company. The Gerard Bertrand Group comprises 16 wineries and 16 chateaux along the Mediterranean coast of France, covering a total of 850 hectares. Part of the grapes are harvested by hand and matured in 225-litre Bordeaux barrels, while the rest is stored in stainless steel tanks.
Gerard Bertrand Heritage An 462 Languedoc is a powerful and elegant red wine from the Languedoc, made from Syrah and Grenache grape varieties. The grapes are harvested separately and by hand to ensure optimum ripeness. The Syrah grapes undergo a whole bunch fermentation with a maceration of around 15 days, while the Grenache grapes receive a longer maceration period of 3 weeks. Part of the wine is aged for 10 months in 225-litre Bordeaux barrels, which gives it additional depth.
