Gerard Bertrand Cote des Roses Sauvignon Blanc IGP 2024 12,5% Vol. 0,75l
In 1975, Gerard Bertrand began harvesting grapes at Chateau de Villemajou in the Corbieres region, where he discovered his passion for wine. For twelve years, he honed his skills alongside his father, Georges Bertrand, until the fourth generation finally carried on the legacy. After his father's tragic death in 1987, Gerard Bertrand took over the family management of Domaine de Villemajou and founded the Gerard Bertrand wine company. The Gerard Bertrand Group comprises 16 wineries and 16 châteaux along the Mediterranean coast of France, covering a total of 850 hectares. Part of the hand-harvested grapes mature in 225-liter Bordeaux barrels, while the rest is stored in stainless steel tanks.
The Cote des Roses, a tribute to the Mediterranean lifestyle, comes from the renowned Gerard Bertrand winery in the Languedoc region, along the Mediterranean coast to the Spanish border. The area benefits from a semi-arid Mediterranean climate, creating ideal conditions for viticulture. The bottle design, created by a young designer from the French Ecole Boulle college, features a rose petal-shaped base.
The grapes for Gerard Bertrand Sauvignon Blanc are carefully harvested to preserve none of the wonderful aromas that distinguish it. Its unmistakable bouquet of citrus fruits, minerality, and French oak gives it its unique character. Aging takes place in both stainless steel tanks and large wooden barrels. This wine has a cellaring potential of approximately 10 years and is sealed with a glass cork to preserve its quality and freshness.
