Since its foundation in 1822, the Fonseca brand has stood for excellent port wine and has established itself as a synonym for exceptional quality. Production takes place in the renowned vineyards of the Douro Valley in Portugal, considered one of the oldest and most prestigious wine regions in the world. The unique terroir is characterized by steep slopes and mineral-rich soils, which shape the taste of the port wines.

Fonseca Porto Tawny Port matures over a period of three years in small oak barrels with a capacity of around 630 liters. During the ageing process, the port wine develops its characteristic color - from a deep ruby red to a warm, golden brown.

The barrel ageing gives it a soft, balanced structure and underlines its mild, rounded character.
