El Jolgorio Mezcal Espadin is a handcrafted premium mezcal from Mexico that reflects the deep tradition of Zapotec distillers in Oaxaca. With an alcohol content of 48.8% ABV and bottled in a 0.5-liter bottle, this mezcal presents itself as an intense and authentic representative of the Espadin agave, distinguished by its exceptional purity and artisanal precision.
It is made exclusively from the Espadin agave (Agave angustifolia), which thrives in the highlands of Oaxaca. After a maturation period of up to eight years, the agaves are traditionally cooked over wood fires in earth pit kilns, then crushed with stones and fermented in open wooden barrels. The double distillation in small copper stills preserves the distinctive character of the plant and gives the distillate its striking clarity and aromatic intensity. Particularly exclusive: The agave harvest for this edition took place in 2018, and the bottling is limited to just 410 bottles worldwide. This makes this mezcal not only an authentic taste experience, but also a true rarity.
