Drappier Champagne Rose de Saignee Brut 12% Vol. in a 0.75-liter bottle is an expressive rose champagne that impressively reflects the signature style of the historic Champagne Drappier house. The family-owned winery, whose roots date back to 1808, is based in Urville in the heart of the Cote des Bar and enjoys an excellent reputation for authentic, terroir-driven champagnes with a high proportion of Pinot Noir. This Rose de Saignee is made exclusively from 100% Pinot Noir and produced using the traditional saignee method, in which color and aromatics are extracted through a two-day maceration period.

The grapes come from the distinctive Kimmeridgian limestone soils of Jurassic origin in Urville and are cultivated according to the principles of sustainable and natural viticulture. After cold maceration of the destemmed grapes, gentle pressing is carried out using a low-pressure plate press. Vinification is conducted exclusively by gravity, followed by natural pre-clarification, malolactic fermentation, and unfiltered, unfined bottling. About 5% of the base wines are aged in large wooden barrels, which adds depth without masking the freshness. The minimal use of sulfur underscores the natural character of this elegant rose Champagne, which delights with its structure, purity, and finesse.
