23 farmers from the surroundings of Puch have joined together to form the Apfelmaenner.
On 3 days and 2 nights the apple men burn their abacus, excluding all visitors. At the end of the year the abacus is carried by the Applemen in their bats to its storage in the cellar of the House of Apples.
Once a year, at least 5 bottles of abacus from each vintage are walled in on the south side of the churchyard wall.
