The port house Delaforce was founded in 1868 by George Henry Delaforce. Quickly the name Delaforce was known worldwide.
Since January 1, 2008, the famous port house Real Companhia Velha belongs to Delaforce. The company celebrated its 250th anniversary in 2006, making it not only the oldest port house, but also the oldest company in Portugal.
The grapes for the production come from the upper Douro Valley. The valley is located in the northeast of Portugal and is known for its narrow terraces.
The style of this port is reminiscent of the 19th century, when Delaforce port was used to supply the royal court in Portugal. Before being bottled, HIS EMINANCE CHOICE Port is aged for 10 years in large oak barrels.
