According to legend, more than a hundred years ago, Don Melchora, the founder of the Concha y Toro winery, hid a valuable wine collection in his personal cellar. But over time, he noticed that bottles were mysteriously disappearing. Apparently, his secret cellar was no longer so secret, and the townspeople, who had heard of his exquisite wines, couldn't resist tasting them for themselves.

Since the locals were superstitious and feared supernatural phenomena, Don Melchora spread rumors of strange occurrences to secure his treasure. Noises in the cellar, echoes, shadows, and figures could only be explained by one explanation: The devil himself lived in his cellar. Thus, the cellar, Casillero del Diablo, earned its unique name and helped to make the wines known beyond its borders, making them one of the most famous Chilean wine brands in the world.

The Concha y Toro Casillero del Diablo Chardonnay Reserva comes from vineyards located just a few kilometers from the Pacific Ocean. The strong sea breezes and moderate temperatures produce remarkably fresh wines. The soils in the Limari Valley lend the Chardonnay an elegant mineral note, while Casablanca contributes fruit flavors like peach. This combination of climate and terroir results in a Chardonnay appreciated for its elegance and complexity.
