Claude Chatelier XO Extra Old Fine Cognac embodies traditional French Cognac production and exceptionally long cask maturation. The *eaux-de-vie* used in this blend are derived from the classic white grape varieties Ugni Blanc and Colombard, which provide an ideal foundation for distillation and subsequent long-term aging. A distinctive feature of Claude Chatelier XO Cognac is its maturation period of at least 22 years. Initially, the *eaux-de-vie* are aged in new Limousin oak casks, allowing them to absorb intense wood and spice characteristics. This is followed by further maturation in older Limousin oak casks, where the wood notes can integrate more harmoniously with the spirit.

Throughout this lengthy maturation phase, the casks rest in the traditional *Paradis*—the section of the Cognac cellar reserved for particularly old and precious *eaux-de-vie*. The combination of at least 22 years of aging, the use of different Limousin oak casks, and the Ugni Blanc and Colombard grape varieties shapes the complex character of this XO Extra Old Cognac bottling. Claude Chatelier XO Extra Old Fine Cognac is bottled at 40% ABV in a 0.7-liter bottle. The extended cask aging develops classic maturation aromas such as vanilla, oak, and *rancio*, while preserving floral and fruity notes. The result is a Claude Chatelier XO that stands as a long-aged French Cognac with a traditional production profile.
