The Chateau Mont-Redon Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2022 is a full-bodied French red wine from the southern Rhone Valley, whose character is shaped by three distinct terroirs. The renowned Chateauneuf-du-Pape appellation is located on the left bank of the Rhone between Orange and Avignon. Only select grapes from the estate’s finest plots are used for this cuvee. These include the Mont-Redon plateau with its large, rounded pebbles; the Urgonian limestone soils characterized by angular white rocks; and the sandy soils of Mont-Redon. The Mediterranean climate, with its hot, dry summers and the regularly blowing Mistral wind, creates ideal conditions for viticulture. The blend consists primarily of Grenache Noir, Syrah, and Mourvedre, complemented by Cinsault, Counoise, Muscardin, and Vaccarese.

The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand at optimal ripeness and carefully selected right in the vineyard. Additional visual sorting allows for the precise selection of individual berries. After complete destemming, a 15- to 20-day maceration takes place with regular punching down of the cap. Following malolactic fermentation, only the best lots are selected for further aging. Approximately half of the wine is aged in wooden barrels and half in tanks before the final blend is assembled after about one year. Bottling takes place about 18 months after the harvest, followed by at least four to six months of bottle aging in the wine cellar. With 15.5% alcohol in the 0.75-liter bottle, the Chateau Mont-Redon Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2022 is a sophisticated, age-worthy Rhone red wine that combines traditional winemaking with rigorous quality selection.
