The Ca dei Frati Cuvee dei Frati Dosaggio Zero Metodo Classico 13% vol. 0.75 l is an Italian premium sparkling wine from the renowned DOC Lugana region on southern Lake Garda, produced using the classic bottle fermentation method (Metodo Classico) with zero dosage - i.e. without any additional sugar added after disgorging. This traditional method gives the wine a particularly pure, lively freshness and a fine perlage, while it gains complexity and depth through long ageing "sur lie".
The cuvee is based on 90% Turbiana (Trebbiano di Lugana), the autochthonous white wine variety of the region, supplemented by 10% Chardonnay. After the second fermentation in the bottle, the sparkling wine matures on the lees for at least 24 months, which gives it creaminess, a fine texture and aromatic depth. The "Dosaggio Zero" method emphasizes the natural freshness and purity of the grapes, without sweetening after yeast ageing.
