The Bozal Single Maguey Tobasiche Mezcal combines traditional craftsmanship from Oaxaca with the unique characteristics of the Karwinskii agave, from whose wild form Tobasiche this mezcal is obtained. The plant takes around twelve to thirteen years to fully mature, which significantly shapes its intense, herbal profile. Tobasiche is known for its herbal, cedar-like aroma and an earthy finish that reflects the natural depth of this agave variety. This mezcal is produced in Rio de Ejutla, Oaxaca, using traditional methods that have been handed down unchanged for over two hundred years. The agave hearts are cooked in earth pit ovens, then crushed with a stone tahona and fermented using natural wild yeasts in an open fermentation process before double distillation in a copper pot still.

This Single Maguey Mezcal represents an unadulterated, artisanal style that expresses the essence of wild agave particularly clearly. The combination of mineral notes, a subtle sweetness and rich, herbal-spicy accents gives Bozal Tobasiche its distinctive character. The ceramic, earth-coloured bottle with a natural fibre-based label is reminiscent of traditional terracotta copitas and emphasizes the brand's artisanal approach. The name Bozal, which means "wild" or "untamed" in Spanish, refers both to the original cultivation areas and to the authentic production methods of the local mezcaleros.
