For the Oak Voyage, Bowmore relies exclusively on American oak: the single malt was first matured in American oak ex-Bourbon casks and then finished in Oloroso sherry-seasoned American oak butts. This deliberate cask selection thus combines long-term maturation in Bourbon casks with the additional influence of Oloroso sherry.
