The use of wine barrels in the maturation of European whiskeys has a long tradition, while this approach is a recent innovation in American whiskey production. Vapor Distillery, in their quest to create exceptional flavors, has recognized that the integration of deep, dark fruit notes is an excellent fit for the character of their rich and vibrant single malt whiskey.
The whiskey is first aged for three years in newly charred American oak barrels. It then undergoes an additional nine months of refinement in Ruby Port casks, which give it an extended flavor dimension.
