The Bottega Alexander Exquisite Aqva di Vita Grappa Invecchiata Rosso is an exceptionally elegant barrel-aged grappa made from the marc of select Tuscan red wines. These come from local and international grape varieties cultivated on the best soils in Tuscany - regions that are known worldwide for their powerful, full-bodied and structured red wines. They form the basis for this characterful grappa, which carries the soul of the Tuscan wine tradition.

The production takes place in three distillation phases in traditional copper stills, which enable vacuum distillation in order to preserve the fine aromas in the best possible way. Bain-marie heating (indirect water bath process) ensures that the distillation remains particularly gentle and aroma-friendly. The result is a distillate that captures the full aroma and freshness of the original grapes and reproduces them in concentrated form.

After distillation, the grappa is aged for 12 months in carefully handcrafted oak barrels. These barrels are made from wood that has been dried in the open air for at least 24 months, which reduces excess tannins and refines the natural character of the wood. The staves are then cut, toasted and assembled into barrels - a traditional process that contributes significantly to the development of the soft, harmonious taste. During the maturation in oak, the grappa develops its golden amber hue, acquires notes of vanilla, raisins and floral sweetness and becomes a distillate of impressive depth and balance.
