Barcelo is the world's most imported dark rum and stands for the highest quality and sustainability. The brand was founded in 1930 in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, and developed into one of the most successful rum distilleries in the entire Caribbean within just a few weeks. Barcelo is made from 100% sugar cane juice, which gives it its unmistakable taste.
Barcelo Organic Rum is the first Dominican organic rum made from organic yeast. It matures in oak barrels and follows the strictest rules of organic farming. Five years ago, sugar cane plantations began to be prepared in such a way that no artificial fertilizer residues remain in the soil. These plantations are located just three kilometers from the distillery and benefit from the natural irrigation of a nearby river.
The gift boxes are also environmentally friendly and are made from natural sugar cane fiber and organic ink.
