Ararat brandy, named after the biblical Mount Ararat, represents the exquisite quality and centuries-old tradition of Armenian distilling. The history of Ararat brandy began in 1887 with the founding of the first brandy factory in Yerevan by Nerses Tairyan. This distillery, now known as the "Yerevan Brandy Company", set new standards in the production of high-quality spirits and became the center of Armenian brandy production. The resulting wine is distilled in copper stills to produce a clear and aromatic brandy.
