The Ailsa Bay Sweet Smoke 1.2 is a very pleasant smoky and sweet whisky from the Lowlands. Master blender Brian Kinsman has found the optimal balance of sweet and smoky flavours and has implemented it very successfully.
The Single Malt is bottled with 022 PPM and 019 SPPM. Never before has the measured degree of sweetness been indicated on the bottle label.
A so-called "micro maturation" was used for the first time in production. Until now, this method was only used for Ailsa Bay Whisky.
Micro Maturation means a 6-9 month storage in Hudson Baby Bourbon Casks which have a capacity of 25-100 litres and a storage in Virgin Fist Fill and Refill American Oak Cask for further years.
