James Fleming founded the Aberlour Distillery in 1879 in the heart of Speyside, a region renowned worldwide for its first-class whiskies. The location, picturesquely situated at the confluence of the Lour Burn and the River Spey and nestled in the impressive landscape of Ben Rinnes, was carefully chosen. A'bunadh Alba, which means "the original" in Gaelic, is a tribute to James Fleming, the visionary founder of the Aberlour Distillery.
