The Winkler-Hermaden winery is located on the Kapfensteiner Kogel, an extinct volcano, in southeastern Styria. The winery covers a total of 40 hectares of vineyards.
After numerous well-known white grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Traminer and Pinot Blanc, the most famous red wine variety, the Blauer Zweigelt, can also be found.
The Blauer Zweigelt is with 30% the main variety of the winery. As the little brother of the Olivin, it stands for pure, uncomplicated drinking pleasure. The "classic" Zweigelt remains a little shorter after fermentation on the mash and is aged for about a year in large wooden barrels made of Kapfenstein oak.
