The Tommasi winery, located in Pedemonte within the renowned Valpolicella region in Italy, was founded in 1902 and is now under the management of Dario Tommasi, the fourth generation of the family to run the business. He is supported by his three brothers, who are involved in the areas of cultivation, cellar management and sales. Today, the winery covers a proud 135 hectares of its own vineyards.
One of the winery's flagship products is the Tommasi Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico, a cuvee made from four traditional Valpolicella grape varieties: 50% Corvina Veronese, 30% Rondinella, 15% Corvinone and 5% Oseleta. Only the best-ripened grapes are used to make this exquisite wine. These are dried over the winter on open racks, a process that enhances the concentration of aromas and sugars.
The wine is then aged for three years in oak barrels, followed by a further year of bottle ageing to fully develop its complex structure and deep nuances of flavor.
