"Older is better" is the whisky equivalent of "more is more" however, no-age statement (NAS) whisky is not a new phenomenon. Macallan whiskies in particular are enjoying greater popularity, and so the distillery had to find a way to meet the demand. As with the Macallan Rare Cask already the name reveals, it is a real rarity and is especially popular in collector circles.
In the production of the Macallan Rare Cask 2023 was collaborated with the well-known musician Charlie Burchill of Simple Minds. On a joint journey, the subtleties of the sensory world were explored and parallels between sound, aroma, taste and color were identified. The musician's art of creating unique whiskies as well as composing outstanding music leads to this exquisite cask release bottling. This Macallan matures in the finest and rarest sherry oak casks, which previously matured Macallan Estate.
