The Bruichladdich Distillery, known for its high-quality whiskies, is located on the Scottish island of Islay and also produces a remarkable gin: Bruichladdich The Botanist Islay Gin. This product deserves to be better known as it has a distinctive taste profile and unique characteristics, which are mainly determined by the origin of its botanicals.

For the production of Botanist Islay Gin, the distillery uses a total of 22 locally sourced botanicals, including juniper cones, chamomile, lemon balm, thyme, elderflower and birch leaves. These ingredients are complemented by unusual botanicals such as the leaves of marsh myrtle and the flowers of creeping thistle as well as tansy, white clover and meadowsweet. Imported botanicals such as cinnamon, coriander, lemon peel, liquorice root, cassia bark and iris root are also used to expand the range of flavors.

Distillation takes place in the "Ugly Betty", a special low-pressure Lomond copper still, which gives the gin its characteristic softness. The resulting gin is characterized by its smooth texture and a complex aroma that contains both traditional and innovative elements. Bruichladdich The Botanist Islay Gin thus represents an important addition to the Bruichladdich Distillery's product range.
