The Tement winery, located in southern Styria on the border with Slovenia, concentrates primarily on the cultivation of white grape varieties. 95% of its vineyards are planted with varieties such as Welschriesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Gelber Muskateller, Pinot Blanc, Morillon and Traminer. The wines, which are grouped under the name "Steirische Klassik", come from different vineyards and mature in stainless steel tanks. In addition to the "Steirische Klassik", the winery also produces single-vineyard wines, each of which reflects the characteristic influence of its specific vineyard site and is matured in both large and small wooden barrels.

Ried Grassnitzberg, the first vineyard owned by the Tement family, is considered an outstanding example in the world of winemaking. Planted by founder Josef Tement himself in the 1950s, this vineyard offers a unique expression of the terroir. The old vines rooted in this southeast-facing basin location find their origins in an astonishing 16-million-year-old coral reef.

Tement Sauvignon Blanc Ried Grassnitzberg Riff is a single-varietal Sauvignon Blanc that embodies the highest level of craftsmanship. After natural spontaneous fermentation, the wine matures for 24 months on the fine lees in large, old Styrian oak barrels, which gives it a special finesse and depth. The wine is then bottled unfiltered and sealed with a natural cork.

With an impressive ageing potential from 2025 to 2045, this Sauvignon Blanc is ideal for both immediate enjoyment and long-term storage.
