The Tement winery, located in southern Styria on the border with Slovenia, concentrates primarily on the cultivation of white grape varieties. 95% of its vineyards are planted with varieties such as Welschriesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Gelber Muskateller, Pinot Blanc, Morillon and Traminer. The wines, which are grouped under the name "Steirische Klassik", come from different vineyards and mature in stainless steel tanks. In addition to the "Steirische Klassik", the winery also produces single-vineyard wines, each of which reflects the characteristic influence of its specific vineyard site and is matured in both large and small wooden barrels.

The grape variety for the Tement Sauvignon Blanc Kalk & Kreide thrives on a soil mix of coral limestone, limestone and loamy limestone marl, on vines aged between 16 and 56 years. After careful manual harvesting, the wine undergoes natural spontaneous fermentation, followed by gentle maturation on the fine lees. This maturation phase takes place in a combination of stainless steel tanks and large wooden barrels in order to optimally develop the characteristic aromas. Finally, the wine is bottled and sealed with natural corks, allowing it to develop its full drinking potential until 2034.
