The Tacama winery is the oldest wine-growing region in Peru. Since 1520, exquisite grape varieties have been cultivated and wines produced there. It was not until 250 years later that the success story of Pisco began. In 1776 it was forbidden to export Peruvian wine to Spain. At that time, distillation processes were already widespread and also known in Peru. In order to be able to continue trading nevertheless, the wines were distilled and bottled, Pisco was born. Since the ban applied to wines, Pisco made its way into the society of Europe and, of course, Peru.
