The Schneider family winery in Ellenstadt was founded in 1994 with one hectare of land and now covers 92 hectares. Under the management of winemaker Markus Bauer, the focus is on organic cultivation without artificial fertilizers and insecticides.
The winery cultivates various grape varieties, including Riesling, Pinot Gris, Merlot, Cabernet and others. This diversity enables the production of a wide range of wines that appeal to different tastes.
The grape varieties used include Merlot, Cabernet Dorsa, Cabernet Sauvignon, Blaufraenkisch and Syrah. Ageing takes place over 14 weeks in wooden fermentation vats, followed by storage in wooden barrels until October.
The different terroirs of the Palatinate, where the vineyards are located, contribute to the diversity and complexity of the wines. Natural cork is used as a stopper, which is a traditional winemaking practice.
