The powerful Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz, proudly highlighted from the vastness of Australia, embodies the true essence of the Shiraz grape. In the fertile plains of South Australia, the grapes ripen on soils of clay, sand and brown earth. As soon as harvest time arrives, the grapes are taken to the press house, carefully selected and gently opened to release their precious essence. This development of the wine is accompanied by a long maturation process of 6 months in oak barrels. Here the complexity is deepened and the soul of Koonunga Hill Shiraz is refined, while remaining in quiet harmony with the wood. Penfolds Koonunga Hill can mature for around 8 years in the bottle, which is sealed with a screw cap.
