The powerful Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz, proudly highlighted from the far reaches of Australia, embodies the true essence of the Shiraz grape. In the fertile plains of South Australia, the grapes ripen on soils of clay, sand and brown earth. When harvest time comes, the grapes enter the press house and are carefully selected and gently opened to release their precious essence. This evolution of the wine is accompanied by a long aging process of 6 months in oak barrels. Here the complexity is deepened and the soul of Koonunga Hill Shiraz is refined, while it remains in contact with the wood in silent harmony.
