M 1, the best that the Markowitsch winery has to offer. The Aubuehl site offers the grapes perfect conditions, a hilly landscape that receives up to 2000 hours of sunshine a year.
The Markowitsch M1 is a harmonious cuvee, consisting of 75% Merlot and 25% Blaufraenkisch. The grapes for this wine were carefully harvested by hand from early to mid-October and selected several times, with only the ripest grapes being chosen.
Fermentation took place spontaneously in wooden fermentation vats at temperatures of 30-32°C, accompanied by a maceration period of 24-30 days. The wine then matured for 24 months in French oak barriques and in a 1,200-liter wooden barrel. The Markowitsch M1 is sealed with a natural cork and has a storage potential until 2037.
