This edition of the Viking Series is a homage to the Viking Egill Skallagrimsson.
Egill Skallagrimsson was a talented poet but also a brutal murderer. He wrote his first poem when he was three years old and murdered his first human being when he was seven.
Skallagrimsson murdered Bloodaxe's son, which is why he wanted to take revenge on Skallagrimsson.
But when Bloodaxe got a poem from his rival, he was so moved that he spared him.
