A great rose champagne can only be made from well-ripened grapes, a state that is sometimes difficult to achieve in the climatic conditions of Champagne.
Louis Roederer therefore decided to grow his grapes in Cumieres, on a shallow clay-limestone soil on a steep slope.
The full southern exposure and the sunlight reflected by the Marne River help the grapes to achieve high phenolic ripeness.
Approximately 63% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay and 24% aged in oak barrels.
The Cuvee Rose Vintage matures for an average of 4 years on the lees and is left to rest for at least 6 months after degorgement to give its maturity the finishing touch.
