A great rose champagne can only be made from well ripened grapes, a condition that is sometimes difficult to achieve under the climatic conditions of Champagne! This is why Louis Roederer decided to grow in Cumieres, on an alumina-limestone soil of shallow depth and with a steep slope.
The completely southern exposure and the sunlight reflected by the Marne help the grapes to reach high phenolic maturity.
Approximately 63% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay and 24% wines aged in oak barrels.
The Cuvee Rose Vintage matures for an average of 4 years with yeast sedimentation. After the degorgement, it is also given at least 6 months of rest to give its maturity the final touch.
