After a warm spring with moderate rainfall as well as hot temperatures through August, the grapes ripened excellently until they were harvested by hand in September. The grapes were sorted and then gently crushed. In order to guarantee the quality of the fully ripe grapes, since 2016, in addition to the manual selection, a visual selection is also carried out. The alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at temperatures between 22-28 °C. This red wine was transferred to barriques and stored in the cellars of Ornellaia at controlled temperatures for about 15 months.
