Laphroaig is a whisky distillery on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay and is owned by the Japanese-American Beam Suntory group. The buildings of the distillery are classified in the Scottish heritage lists. In the production of Laphroaig, barley malt is dried over a peat fire. The smoke from this peat, found only on Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavor.
Laphroaig PX Cask is the successor to Laphroaig Triple Wood and matures in three different casks: American Oak, Quarter Cask and PX Sherry Cask.
