La Maison du Rhum, an independent bottler from France, specializes in the release of limited series of exceptional rums from renowned producers in leading rum-producing countries. The company has established itself as a true treasure trove for rum lovers seeking access to rare bottlings.

The island of La Reunion in the Indian Ocean, known for its traditional rum production from both molasses and fresh sugar cane juice (Agricole Rum), is home to the traditional Riviere du Mat distillery. It skillfully combines two distillation processes: single distillation for aromatically intense rums and triple distillation for particularly light rums.

Riviere du Mat mainly uses French oak barrels, which were previously used to store top-quality cognac, to mature its premium rums. A special bottling from this distillery matures for 10 years in these French oak and ex-Cognac barrels, giving the rum a complex structure and deep aromas.
