Vinarija Benkovac became really famous only in 2005, when new vineyards were planted in Korlat near Benkovac on an area of 103 hectares with 530,000 vines.
The vineyard includes a range of Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc i Mourvedre.
The grapes of Korlat Syrah are grown on a controlled and limited site near Korlat, Croatia, and then harvested by hand. In the winery, they are freed from the stems and gently crushed so that the juice comes into contact with the color and aromas of the grapes.
