Kilchoman, founded as the first new distillery on Islay in over 124 years, has established itself as the last independent distillery on the island. This origin is characteristically reflected in the taste profile of the whisky, which emphasizes the deep connection to the untouched nature and tradition of Islay.
Loch Gorm is the name of Kilchoman's annual limited edition, which is matured exclusively in sherry casks. Named after the largest freshwater loch on Islay, which is immediately adjacent to the distillery, this special bottling is characterized by its deep, copper hue, reminiscent of the dark, murky color of lake water. The 2024 edition, which was distilled in 2014, matured in 23 Oloroso sherry casks previously used by the prestigious Bodega Jose y Miguel Martin.
With a strictly limited edition of just 18,000 bottles, this bottling is of particular interest not only to whisky collectors, but also to connoisseurs of exceptional sherry-matured whisky.
