The Kavalan Distillery, established in Taiwan in 2005 by T.T. Lee, the president of the King Car Group, fulfilled his greatest dream by opening his own whisky distillery. Named after the Yilan region, southeast of Taipei, the distillery benefits significantly from the water quality in the area. The abundant, cold spring water from Snow Mountain is a decisive factor in the quality of the whisky.
Within the Solist range, Kavalan offers exclusive bottlings that are put together by the master blenders from specially selected casks. These casks are distinguished by their unique character and exceptional quality. One highlight of this range is a whisky matured in Portuguese port wine casks, which gives it a special flavor.
