The Karukera Cuvee Christophe Colomb 1493 Tres Vieux Rhum Hors d'Age owes its name to the inhabitants who at that time named the island "Karukera", which means "The island of beautiful waters". This is where Christopher Columbus first moored his fleet in November 1493. This rum is produced in the oldest distillery on the island, the Hope Distillery.
