DAS PHANTOM 2023 is the legendary signature wine from K+K Kirnbauer in Central Burgenland – a red wine with cult status that has been one of Austria's most influential cuvées for decades. The 2023 vintage consists of a finely balanced blend of 44% Blaufraenkisch, 23% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Syrah. The vines are rooted in heavy clay and sandy loam soils, which lend the wine its depth, power, and flavor.

After temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the young wine underwent malolactic fermentation in barriques, followed by 18 months of aging in 225-liter French oak barrels. This phase gives the wine its polished tannin structure, fine roasted aromas, and complex aromatics with depth. Bottled in March 2024, the wine is ready to drink immediately, but has cellaring potential until at least 2041, during which it will continue to gain in finesse and expression.
