The actual events in 1938, when Charles Campbell left the island with a white horse and a simple wooden cart, reflect this prophecy. The Celtic sign of prophecy adorns the eight-shaped bottle of the Isle of Jura Prophecy.
The distillery uses heavily peated malt for the Prophecy, which takes on sweet and fruity aromas during its maturation in bourbon, sherry and limousin oak casks.
Although the whiskies from the neighboring island of Islay are usually known for heavily peated malts with a hint of sea salt, the Jura people prove with the Prophecy bottlings that they have also mastered the art of making peated single malt whisky.
In 2015, the Jura Prophecy received the Silver Quality Award at the IWSC and a silver medal at the International Spirits Challenge.
