Leo Hillinger took over the winery from his father in 1990. Since the handover, he has continued to develop his company. Today, Hillinger wine is internationally renowned. Hillinger has been pursuing organic viticulture since 2010.
Hillinger Hill 1 is a cuvee of Merlot, Blaufraenkisch and Zweigelt. The red wine matures for 24 months in new French wooden barrels and then for 3-5 years in new and used barriques. After this maturation, it is bottled and sealed with a natural cork.
