The Hannes Reeh winery is located in the well-known wine-growing region of Andau, which is close to Lake Neusiedl. With 2400 hours of sunshine, Andau is one of the sunniest places in Austria.
The vines grow on gravelly soils and have to make do with very little rainfall (450mm).
Hannes Reeh has been solely responsible for the vinification of the wines since 2007. The winemaker is an unconventional man, self-confident and determined in pursuing his plans.
The Hannes Reeh Zweigelt Unplugged is matured in wooden barrels over a period of 11 months. The Zweigelt grapes used for this ripen on gravel soil, which is rich in nutrients. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness and purity of the aromas. After the maturation phase, the wine is carefully bottled and sealed with a natural cork.
