The Hannes Reeh winery is located in the well-known wine-growing region of Andau, which is close to Lake Neusiedl. With 2400 hours of sunshine, Andau is one of the sunniest places in Austria. The vines grow on gravelly soils and have to make do with very little rainfall (450mm).
Hannes Reeh has been solely responsible for the vinification of the wines since 2007. The winemaker is an unconventional man, self-confident and determined in pursuing his plans.
The Hannes Reeh Haus & Hof Merlot is made from 100% hand-picked Merlot grapes that grow on gravel soil with a proportion of sand. The wine undergoes both fermentation and maturation in steel tanks and can be stored until 2028. The bottles are sealed with a screw cap.
