With the help of his family, he finally made his dream come true in the summer of 1886.
Glenfiddich is Gaelic and means "valley of the stags".
The 18-year-old Glenfiddich is listed as "Small Batch Single Malt" and matures for 18 years in selected Spanish Oloroso and American oak casks.
