Gesellmann Pinot Noir Siglos 2020 14% Vol. 0,75l

The Gesellmann winery is located in Deutschkreuz, in Burgenland. The nearby Lake Neusiedl, significantly influences the climate in this region. Since 1767, when the winery was first mentioned, it has been passed down from generation to generation. The estate covers 40 hectares.

In mild September, the grapes of Pinot Noir Siglos were carefully harvested by hand to preserve their integrity. Further processing was done with a traditional maceration in stainless steel tanks. During this process, the mash cap was submerged 2 to 4 times a day to ensure optimal extraction of aromas and colorants. This fermentation was spontaneous, without the addition of artificial yeasts, which authentically reflected the wine character. The wine initially spent 20 months in 500-liter barrels before being transferred to a large wooden barrel for final aging. In this wooden barrel, the wine was allowed to develop its unique personality until it was finally ready for bottling.
