Gerard Bertrand is a world-renowned brand and was founded by the winegrower of the same name. The Gerard Bertrand Group comprises 16 wine estates and 16 chateaux. The estate covers 850 hectares and is located on the Mediterranean coast of France.

Gerard Bertrand Heritage An 462 Languedoc is made from the Syrah and Grenache grape varieties. The grapes are harvested by hand and separately to ensure optimum ripeness. The Syrah grapes are generally ripe earlier, while the Grenache grapes are completely destemmed.

Some of the Syrah grapes are vinified as whole bunches and macerated for about 15 days, while the Grenache grapes have a maceration period of about 3 weeks. The extraction work is carefully adapted to each tank to ensure the aromas of the varieties as well as a silky and dense structure.

Part of the wine is matured for around 10 months in 225-liter Bordeaux barrels, with bottling taking place at the time of pressing. The bottles are sealed with a natural cork.
