The wine company Gaja is one of the most famous in the world. In 1859 the winery was founded in Barbaresco by Giovanni Gaja. Giovanni Gaja was the great-grandfather of the current owner, Angelo Gaja. Around 300,000 bottles of wine are produced annually and the vineyard covers 92 hectares.
This Gaja is made from grapes from 14 different vineyards of the Barbaresco DOC.
